Terpenes

Terpenes are the organic compounds responsible for the aroma and flavors of cannabis (and all other plant life), and are a significant contributor to the “entourage effect” and how each strain expresses itself therapeutically. For example, when you smell a lemon, you’re typically uplifted by the smell, which is from the Terpene Limonene. When you smell Lavender, it typically is calming and relaxing, due to the Terpene Linalool. So, in cannabis strains that are Sativa (uplifting), you’ll find a high-level of Limonene, and similarly in Indica strains (relaxing), you’ll find a high-level of Linalool.

Delta Effex has formulated this Chill Delta 8 THC tincture to promote relaxation and sleep, using compelling data from Researchers to include the following three Terpenes:

Nerolidol -> Common cannabis strains with high-levels of this Terpene are Jack Herer and Skywalker OG.

Linalool -> One of the more common Terpenes promoting relaxation is Linalool. Mostly found in Indica strains, Watermelon Zkittlez is one of the more commonly-known.

Borneol -> This Terpene is largely used for it’s unique ability to enhance the therapeutic effects of other drugs and compounds. One of the common strains with Borneol is OG Kush.

Delta 8

Delta 8 THC is a naturally occurring cannabinoid in both cannabis and Industrial Hemp plants. It exists naturally and can also be produced by converting CBD or Δ9 THC via a chemical reaction using heat or other methods. The effects of Delta 8 vary person-to-person, but the typical anecdotal information from consumers is that it’s relaxing, mood-boosting, mildly euphoric, yet clear headed. It has a tendency to be motivating and energizing at lower doses, but can be sleep-inducing at higher doses. This particular blend is formulated with Indica strain Terpenes specifically targeting relaxation and restful sleep.

Dosing

The dropper is marked with four levels from 0.25ml to 1.0ml. This a very pure, very concentrated Delta 8 THC oil, so it’s recommended to start with 1/4 to 1/2 dropper, wait an hour or two, then evaluate how you feel. Another contributor to the effect is the amount of food in your stomach, with the recommendation to consume within thirty minutes of eating. To improve the time to onset of effects, squirt the contents of the dropper underneath the tongue, then hold for up to sixty seconds before swallowing. This method will maximize sublingual absorption into the bloodstream, enabling a certain percentage of the oil to bypass the longer digestion process.

1000mg bottle: 0.25ml = 8.33mg, 0.50ml = 16.66mg, 0.75ml = 25mg, 1.0ml = 33.33mg

Consuming Delta 8 THC may be intoxicating to some people. Do not drive or operate heavy machinery while using this product.

Storage

To prolong the life and effectivity of the oil, it’s recommended to store it in a cool, dark space. If your ambient room temperature is higher than normal, it’s best to store the tincture oil in the refrigerator.

2018 Farm Bill

How does the 2018 Farm Bill define hemp? What does it mean for FDA-regulated products?

At the federal level, the Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018, Pub. L. 115-334, (the 2018 Farm Bill) was signed into law on Dec. 20, 2018. Among other things, this new law changes certain federal authorities relating to the production and marketing of hemp, defined as “the plant Cannabis sativa L. and any part of that plant, including the seeds thereof and all derivatives, extracts, cannabinoids, isomers, acids, salts, and salts of isomers, whether growing or not, with a delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol concentration of not more than 0.3 percent on a dry weight basis.” These changes include removing hemp from the CSA, which means that cannabis plants and derivatives that contain no more than 0.3 percent THC on a dry weight basis are no longer controlled substances under federal law.

The 2018 Farm Bill, however, explicitly preserved FDA’s authority to regulate products containing cannabis or cannabis-derived compounds under the FDC Act and section 351 of the Public Health Service Act (PHS Act). FDA treats products containing cannabis or cannabis-derived compounds as it does any other FDA-regulated products — meaning they’re subject to the same authorities and requirements as FDA-regulated products containing any other substance. This is true regardless of whether the cannabis or cannabis-derived compounds are classified as hemp under the 2018 Farm Bill.
